Next Steps

This week I just finished most of the work that needed to be done to restore the How to Make iPhone Apps blog.

What I did was scoure my archives as well as the WayBack Machine so I could find the original content that I had posted here. It's not perfect, some links are now broke, and the comments that were hosted on my WordPress sites are gone. Worse, I lost the trail in around 2013 and some posts that looked important were missing.

However, with most of the original content restored and some other housekeeping tasks completed like the About, Contact, and Books pages I think I'm ready to move on to other projects for the site.

So now I'm reaching a point where I want to think about what I want to do next. I have some ideas for completely fresh projects like the App Weighter app which I would use myself. However, I still have lots of other things that I could restore from the old days. For instance, I have the source code for my Tasting Notes app which I think might be fun to restore and release again as an open source project. Plus I can add the marketing site that was used for that app to this blog as well.

I also have hours of various "Boot Camp" curriculum that I could release which goes along with the purpose of this project. Restoring what I lost is a big reason why I'm doing this, but I also want to make something new and fun.

Part of me wants to just restart from scratch and use Swift to sort of move on. Part of me wants to fix what I've broken. We will see where this goes.
