Have you ever wondered what it would take to develop an iPhone app even if you were not a developer?
This past week I read this book, Inside Secrets to an iPhone App, that shows you exactly how to design a great iPhone app and have a development team create it for you.
The author, Carla, goes through the entire process of design, selecting a team, developing requirements and submitting an app to the Apple App Store. Along the way she gives pointers on ways to promote your app that are well worth the $13 price tag of this ebook.
Considering that Carla’s app, Gratitude Journal, is ranked #19 in the Lifestyle category and has made appearances on the overall top 100 list it is a good idea to hear what she has to say about promoting iPhone apps.
As if that is not enough, two more ebooks are included in the package: one has interviews with leading app developers while the other is a guide to promoting your app.
I found all the ebooks in this package an interesting and informative read, however I felt that the price of developing the app (she claims it cost about $700) is unrealistic for most people. Carla’s insights into the development/design process are great though. I myself have been very curious about what the process of outsourcing app development is like.
Overall it is a must-read for anyone considering outsourcing the development of their app. For programmers running their own shop it is valuable for the insights into promotion and design. Check out the book for yourself here: Inside Secrets to an iPhone App.
